JobFlo ("we", "our", or "us") is developed and operated by Jamieson Rothwell / Lymegrove. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the JobFlo app and this website.

1. Data Stored on Your Device

All job application data, vibe check-ins, notes, and personal tracking information you enter into JobFlo is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data, and it is never transmitted to our servers.

2. iCloud Sync

If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your data is synced across your devices via Apple's iCloud service and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

3. Support Form

When you submit a bug report or feature request through this website, we collect:

Your email address
The title and description you provide
Any screenshot you choose to attach (optional)

This information is submitted to a private GitHub repository for the sole purpose of responding to your report and improving the app. Your email will not be used for marketing, sold to third parties, or shared beyond what is necessary to address your support request.

4. In-App Purchases

JobFlo offers a free tier and a one-time Lifetime purchase that unlocks all premium features, processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment details. All billing, receipts, and purchase management are handled by Apple under their Privacy Policy.

To enforce the free tier limit, we store a cumulative job count locally on your device using iOS/macOS system storage (UserDefaults). This counter never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us.

Users who previously held an active Pro or Premium subscription before the v2.0 release retain full access to all premium features permanently, even if their subscription has since lapsed.

5. On-Device AI

JobFlo includes AI-powered features on iOS 26+ and macOS 14+ — including Smart Paste AI that extracts structured job data from text or URLs using an on-device quantized language model, ATS keyword matching, ghost job detection with NLP scoring, interview prep guides, and similar job matching. On iOS 26+ and macOS 26+, these features can also use Apple's SystemLanguageModel provided by the Apple Intelligence framework.

All AI processing happens entirely on your device. No job data, notes, URLs, or personal content is transmitted to us, to Apple's servers, or to any third party as a result of using these features. Apple's on-device model is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to, or visibility into, anything processed by the model.

AI features are gated behind runtime availability checks and degrade gracefully — core app functionality is unaffected if AI is unavailable.

6. Analytics, Tracking, and Third-Party Network Requests

JobFlo uses anonymized product analytics via Umami, an open-source, privacy-focused analytics platform we self-host on our own private infrastructure. No analytics data is shared with any third-party analytics company, advertising network, or data broker. We do not track your behaviour across other apps or websites.

When you use the app, anonymized usage signals are sent to our self-hosted server. These signals include:

Which screens you visit (e.g., Dashboard, Jobs list, Settings) — as a path string, not your content
Which features you interact with (e.g., export initiated, job added) — action names only, never your data
Technical context: device type, operating system version, display resolution, and device locale

Analytics events never include your job application data, company names, notes, salary figures, or any other user-authored content. Events are not linked to your name, Apple ID, or any persistent identifier. The data is used solely to understand how the app is being used and to prioritise improvements.

The app does make outbound network requests to third-party services as part of its core features:

Location autocomplete: When you search for a job location, your typed query is sent to Nominatim (nominatim.openstreetmap.org), operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, to return matching place suggestions. Only the query text is sent. We do not store it, and Nominatim's own usage policy governs their server logs.
Job URL import: When you use the "Import from URL" feature, the app fetches the HTML content of the job posting URL you provide. Only the URL you explicitly supply is requested. No other data about you or your device is transmitted.
Company logos: The app may fetch company logo images from third-party image services using the company domain you enter. No personal information is included in these requests.

7. Children's Privacy

JobFlo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Data Retention

Support submissions are retained in our private repository for as long as necessary to resolve the reported issue. You may request deletion of your submission at any time by contacting us.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address below.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app or this website after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
